The Cianbro Development Corporation (CDC) Project Engineer works with the project team to provide concept development, community engagement, design management, financial management, contract compliance, cost estimating, scheduling, and documentation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify market trends and anticipate future development opportunities through industry news, associations, and personal contacts.
  • Provide concept development and solutions that leverage our company's skill sets.
  • Coordinate with Contracts to prepare Confidentiality Agreements, Option Agreements and other legal project documents.
  • Manage project design consultants from initial feasibility through late-stage development:
    • Maintain a stable of trusted consultants for various disciplines
    • Establish scopes of work
    • Request and evaluate proposals
    • Establish deliverables and track design progress
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to prepare purchase orders and change orders for project consultants.
  • Work with Estimating to understand project cost drivers from early-stage development through construction.
  • Coordinate with Operations to establish constructability input during early-stage design.
  • Facilitate and document project constructability reviews with Operations and consultants during all stages of design.
  • Develop and maintain Primavera P6 project schedules.
  • Organize and maintain project files consistently, utilizing established ShareFile folder structure templates.
  • Prepare agendas and document meeting minutes for team meetings with customers and consultants.
  • Create public outreach materials and participate in stakeholder engagement in a variety of settings from one-on-one to large public meeting formats.
Qualifcations/Requirements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Creative aptitude and ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team.
  • Requires a four-year degree in engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience in heavy infrastructure construction.
