The world of energy is changing faster than ever! Our Gridtern Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the energy industry. Your summer will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026, and will be filled with meaningful work experiences, professional development, networking opportunities, community involvement, and most importantly, have fun! What You'll Do Our New England Absence Management team manages essential programs that support both our employees and overall company compliance. This includes administering the drug and alcohol program, workers' compensation, short and long-term disability, and ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additionally, they provide case management to ensure that each colleague receives support while all requirements are met across National Grid. As a Gridtern, you will contribute to projects within the department and gain exposure to various aspects of absence management. Previous projects have included supporting the contractor drug and alcohol program, developing presentations, creating reports, and using Power BI to transform data into valuable insights. This experience will provide you with a deeper understanding of how employee support programs are managed while helping you develop valuable technical and professional skills. You will be based in Northborough, MA working in a Hybrid format for the summer. You must reside within a commutable distance to the designated work location during this period. What You'll Need Availability to start on the program start date, June 15, 2026, and work full-time (40 hours a week) for the duration of the summer Must be registered as a full-time student and continue your education full-time through the Fall 2026 semester Pursuing a Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Absence & Disability Management, Human Resources, Business Administration or related majors Have accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age Possess work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT) Valid US Driver's license with a safe driving history that complies with National Grid's Safe Driver policy. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements. Please note that as a Gridtern, you must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
