Gastroenterology at Glen Mills is located at 500 Evergreen Drive in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. We offer a complete spectrum of services, including routine and diagnostic colonoscopy and endoscopy, small bowel video capsule studies, hemorrhoidal banding, and specialized care for conditions such as acid reflux, Barrett's esophagus, IBS, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and other complex digestive disorders. Our team also provides dedicated liver disease management, including care for fatty liver, hepatitis, and cirrhosis, as well as early detection and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal cancer. At ChristianaCare, every patient receives an individualized treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and health goals. As aMedical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm or 8am to 4:30pm (based on practice needs)
  • Flexibility to cross cover to the Havertown practice.

Duties / Responsibilities:
AMedical Assistant Irole encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing patient care and administrative support within a healthcare practice. Key duties include greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs. TheMedical Assistant Iperforms point of care testing, administers injections and medications, and conducts EKGs when needed. Support for clinicians during examinations and procedures is critical, and this includes preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies, completing patient-specific paperwork, and ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits. TheMedical Assistant Ihandles patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follows state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment. TheMedical Assistant Imanages prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills, schedules tests and surgeries, and performs quality control on point of care testing equipment. TheMedical Assistant Ioffer documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertake clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors, troubleshoot issues with video visits, and help patients utilize ChristianaCare's Patient Portal. Safety is paramount, as theMedical Assistant Iis responsible for working safely, adhering to departmental safety rules, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or violations that could potentially harm patients, staff, or visitors.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
