Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor access points and patrol assigned areas, helping to discourage security-related incidents through a strong visible presence. You will complete routine rounds, document activity, assist with badge and visitor access, and provide professional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, medical situations, and fire-related notifications, and notify site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouses, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and assist with controlled entry for employees, contractors, and delivery drivers, including observing for proper credentials and directing traffic flow as required by site procedures.
  • Complete reports and required documentation such as incident reports, shift logs, and patrol activity, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Have a guard card/license preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control/badge experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
