https://www.uaex.uada.edu/ Summary of Job Duties:The County Extension Agent - Agriculture conducts educational programs for county clientele in the areas of agriculture & 4-H youth development. The agent works closely with a broad audience base to solicit support & participation within the county.

Supervises the county staff and conducts office conferences. Keeps county faculty and staff informed of Extension policy. Conducts annual performance evaluations of faculty and staff assigned to the county. Monitors professional development of faculty, promotes teamwork in the county office, and stays informed of county faculty itinerary and activities.

Responsible for keeping current in compliance of civil rights and maintaining knowledge of civil rights rules and regulations. Plans and implements educational activities and programs. Assures that Public Notification policies are being followed in conducting educational programs. Assures that affiliated organizations are open to the public before conducting programs and documents this in county files. Responsible for civil rights orientation of all new employees in the county. Responsible for conducting monthly civil rights training. Responsible for compliance with Civil Rights regulations in programs and employment. Develops and maintains necessary records for civil rights documentation in assigned areas.

Provides educational information to leaders in organized groups that facilitate and assist in carrying out the county Extension program. Participates in in-service training opportunities to increase knowledge and develop skills in carrying out the Extension program.

Organizes programs around the needs of clientele for both learning and leadership development. Programs are conducted in Agriculture, Community Development and 4-H.

Conducts a continuous evaluation for the overall county Extension program with the district director and specialists to evaluate progress of the Extension program in cooperation with the other faculty as it relates to the plan of work. Interprets impact of educational program to the respective program area committee and the overall county Extension council.

Supervises operations of the county Extension office to ensure that the office is operated in a professional manner and reflects a favorable image on the University of Arkansas.

Develops and makes annual request for funding which is discussed with District Director and presented to County Budget Committee. Responsible for the timely preparation and submission of required reports and requests for information. Approves requests for leave, travel authorization requests, travel reimbursement claims, purchase orders, and other documentation as appropriate. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related area of study is required. Must have transportation for use on the job with liability insurance in effect. Must agree to a background check authorizing release of relevant Arkansas Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry records.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of agricultural subject matter appropriate to the county. Ability to plan & conduct programs & work with all clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, marital or veteran status, genetic information, sexual preference, pregnancy, or any other legally protected status. Ability to speak & write clearly & communicate ideas effectively. Ability to work long & irregular hours & travel frequently.
