Job Description




As a Security Officer - Refinery Gate Driver in Louisville, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a high-activity chemical and petrochemical location where you will manage access control, verify credentials, and guide visitors and contractors through entry procedures. You will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license in the job state is required.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a chemical and/or petrochemical location by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors according to site requirements.
  • Monitor gates and/or lobby areas and related systems such as access control logs, alarms, and cameras, documenting security-related activity and reporting irregularities through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and support in line with post orders and client procedures.
  • Complete required reports such as access logs, incident reports, and shift activity documentation, communicating pertinent information to oncoming personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field is required.
  • Previous firefighting experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
