Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Front Desk in Akron, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact while supporting security-related operations. You will greet patients, visitors, and staff, manage access and visitor logs, respond to questions and concerns, and communicate clearly with site teams during incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Welcome and assist patients, visitors, vendors, and staff; answer questions, provide directions, and support a positive arrival experience.
  • Manage visitor entry by verifying identification and/or appointment information, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining visitor logs per location policy.
  • Monitor and acknowledge alarms, phones, radios, and front desk communications; route calls and requests to the appropriate department.
  • Observe the lobby and reception areas for unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access through presence and adherence to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request additional resources and/or medical support as needed.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and service requests in written reports and electronic systems according to Allied Universal and location guidelines.
  • Support controlled access by coordinating with clinical and administrative staff on restricted areas, after-hours entry, and delivery protocols.
  • Assist with handling lost and found items and maintaining front desk materials, keys, and badges in accordance with site policies.
  • Participate in required training and follow Allied Universal and location-specific procedures for professionalism, confidentiality, and information handling.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
