Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Tallahassee, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, responding to situations as needed, and delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be part of a reliable and innovative team, acting with integrity and putting people first while upholding the highest standards in a government setting.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and monitor for any potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain an orderly environment.
  • Complete detailed reports and documentation of incidents, observations, and activities as required by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed to support incident response and resolution.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and remain alert to potential security-related risks or hazards specific to a government environment.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and procedures, as well as any site-specific instructions relevant to an armed patrol post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
