Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Property Rover in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor badging, respond to requests, and deliver standout customer service through clear communication and professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout commercial real estate common areas, office corridors, stairwells, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter lines to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor, contractor, and/or delivery entry procedures in accordance with property requirements.
  • Observe and report irregular conditions such as unsecured doors, suspicious behavior, loitering, vandalism, and/or maintenance concerns; notify property management and/or designated contacts as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, alarms, medical calls, and/or other disturbances per site procedures.
  • Assist with building closing and/or opening routines, including checking doors, gates, tenant spaces as directed, and/or other assigned areas.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and/or equipment as assigned, such as CCTV, fire panels, access control systems, radios, and/or incident management tools.
  • Write detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and/or shift activity reports, and communicate key information during shift turnover.
  • Support emergency response activities by guiding occupants, maintaining controlled access to affected areas, and/or coordinating with first responders and property staff.
  • Enforce property rules and conduct as directed, including parking controls, restricted area compliance, and/or tenant amenity policies while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
