Job Description




As a Security Officer - Parking Lot Patrol in Tar Heel, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced food and beverage location, you will help maintain an orderly environment through high-visibility patrols, regular perimeter and interior checks, and timely reporting of security-related concerns. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver's license under AU driver policy requirements. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and strong customer service while supporting daily operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to associates, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production and distribution location.
  • Control access to buildings, production areas, and/or yards by verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing traffic to designated areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking lots, loading docks, and perimeter fencing, to help to deter unauthorized access and report suspicious activity.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other systems as assigned, and report unusual conditions, equipment concerns, or policy violations through the appropriate channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, fires, spills, and/or severe weather, and contact emergency services when needed.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by observing trailer movements, checking seals as directed by site procedures, documenting arrivals and departures, and reporting irregularities.
  • Complete incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity reports with clear, accurate details, and communicate key information during shift changes.
  • Enforce site rules related to restricted areas, personal protective equipment requirements where posted, and vehicle and pedestrian routes, and provide directions and policy reminders as needed.
  • Assist with investigations by preserving the scene, gathering basic information, and escalating concerns to Allied Universal supervision and/or site management.
  • Participate in required trainings, drills, and briefings, and follow post orders and instructions from Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
