Job Description




As a Security Officer - Medical Center Rounds in Chattanooga, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with clear communication and customer service. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity while working as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical emergencies, and fire and/or alarm activations, while coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and other policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and supporting visitor management processes in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor and report security-related conditions such as unsecured doors, blocked egress routes, suspicious behavior, and unusual activity; notify appropriate personnel and document observations.
  • Complete detailed reports, incident documentation, and shift activity logs to support follow-up and continuity between shifts.
  • Provide assistance with wayfinding and customer service requests, including escorting visitors and staff to approved areas when requested and permitted by site policy.
  • Support healthcare de-escalation practices by communicating professionally, maintaining situational awareness, and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Operate site equipment as trained, such as radios, access control systems, and video monitoring tools, and report malfunctions through established channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be willing and able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be willing and able to work in and/or around a hospital morgue.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be willing and able to restrain individuals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
