As a Security Officer - Courthouse Roving Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government airport location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet travelers and staff, respond to questions, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting access points and procedures. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of terminal areas, public spaces, administrative buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials when authorized, and directing individuals to proper check-in locations per site procedures.
- Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or designated checkpoints; observe for suspicious behavior, unattended items, and policy violations and report concerns through the proper channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, fire alarms, and/or weather-related events, and coordinate with site representatives and public responders as needed.
- Operate and/or monitor security-related systems such as radios, CCTV, alarms, and access control equipment as assigned; promptly document and report system issues.
- Complete routine reports and documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity summaries, with accurate and timely details.
- Provide directions and general assistance to travelers and visitors, including wayfinding to offices, parking, and transportation areas, while maintaining a professional presence.
- Conduct basic checks of doors, gates, and perimeter conditions during patrols and report unsecured access points, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
- Support traffic and/or pedestrian flow during peak periods, special events, and/or closures as directed by site leadership and post orders.
- Participate in required training and briefings, follow Allied Universal policies, and comply with all applicable rules and regulations for a government airport environment.
Minimum Requirements: - Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
- Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
