Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limitedto:
- Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities.
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
- Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.
- Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment.
- Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in associated training.
AUTHORITIES, including but not limitedto:
- Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
- Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
PRIMARY DUTIES, including but not limitedto:
- Respond to non-established procedures if they should arise.
- Provide input to Product Development regarding mold or tooling design and sign-off on final design.
- Work with all plants on tooling issues.
- Work with the plants on installation and start-up of all new molds or tooling.
- Optimize the performance of all molds or tooling within area of discipline.
- Work with plant operations to provide input on continuous improvement of the tooling department.
- Track mold or tooling prices for all projects to assure we are getting the best value.
- Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years field experience in Engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 - 12 point font at a distance of 12 - 18 inches.
- Speak, write, and read effectively in English.
- Computer literate.
- Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal positively with others in a team environment.
