Senior Application Engineer

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an Application Engineer to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.

The successful candidate shall be proficient in the following areas: custom computer programming, commercial-off-the-shelf application configuration and customization, report development, dev-ops, scripting, and testing.

Assist in enhancing the overall functionality of software by improving software architecture, supporting existing software, and engineering hardware components that optimize various technologies.
• This role involves providing technical support to clients, testing applications, maintaining hardware, and responding to customer requests.
• The Application Engineer will also analyze complex system requirements, design software tools and subsystems, and manage software development and support processes.
• Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
• Estimate software development costs and schedule.
• Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.

• BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 3 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Must have an active Q or DOD TS (eligible for reciprocity)
• Must be US Citizen
• Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as both onsite and offsite work required.

Required Skills:

• Support for Confluence and ServiceNow Administration which includes troubleshooting and working with the Vendors and internal support teams
• Linux Server Support for SRN+SCN as it relates to Confluence
• Help standardize processes across applications: DevonWay, Archer, Confluence and ServiceNow
• Familiarity with troubleshooting applications running in Windows OS
• Experience working with IIS and Tomcat
• Agile (preferably Scrum) experience
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as HTML, PHP, JavaScript, Python
