Our Machinist is primarily responsible for applying proper troubleshooting, diagnostic and corrective steps in the repair of parts, components and systems within Caterpillar and allied products. What You Will Do in This Role: Fabricate, maintain and repair metal objects through the operation of lathes, shapers, planers, milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses and similar equipment Measure work carefully by using precision tools such as a micrometer Perform milling and lathe work on equipment such as pumps, valves, pistons, shafts or other equipment Calculate and set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
