How you make a difference in this role: This classification serves as either a direct report to the Commissioner, or a Deputy Director or Fiscal Director over a Division leading administrative or fiscal activities. An employee in this classification will manage the appointment and orientation process; assist in strategic planning; support operations of a large division; perform budget and contacting duties and monitor purchasing and procurement. This classification may also assist the Division director with oversight of all personnel related activities. Certain assignments in this class may involve non-administrative or non-fiscal activities such as overseeing a human resources program/division or providing investigative services for the Department. Job Overview: The Tennessee Department of Health's Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW) is seeking a Public Health Administrator 3, Executive Service position. The Public Health Administrator 3 (PHA3) position will function as the Family Health and Wellness (FHW) Deputy Director of Operations. Duties include strategic leadership of budget and grants management, compliance, legislation and policy, data systems infrastructure, strategic initiatives, and communications. The Deputy Director will join FHW leadership to determine and execute overall FHW and TDH priorities and provide a supporting role to the Division Director. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience differ for this executive service classification based on the needs of the department. This might include a Bachelor's degree in a health or science field, a Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Health Administration or Health Planning, experience with statewide leadership or directing all functions of a public health program as a whole.
