ENGIE North America is growing as we continue to lead the energy transition. We are looking to network with talented Inventory Specialists in the Iowa City, IA area.

Potential future opportunities require working with the site administrator, financial manager, unit planning & scheduling staff, and managers to coordinate management of warehouse stock, inventory, ordering, and replenishment. Responsibilities could include bar-coding of stock, coordination of inventory management with the Maximo work order management system, placement, organization, and maintenance of the physical inventory at the Independence Road Annex warehouse, and work with technicians to implement consistent procedures for check out and return of parts with charging to correct work orders. May also participate in the procurement process and may support stock for capital projects.

What you'll do:

Inventory professionals at ENGIE North America are responsible for:



  • Gaining an understanding of the Maximo workflows to support procurement of parts, stocking and warehousing, distribution of parts, and charging to correct accounts
  • Working with planners to understand the criticality of parts and jointly develop minimum quantities - ensuring that those minimum quantities are maintained
  • Managing the layout, placement, and upkeep the organization of spare parts at the Independence Road Annex warehouse facility
  • Operating a forklift and portable lift equipment to safely store and retrieve parts
  • Supporting kitting of parts to meet needs of specific work order requirements, based upon work plans and parts needs presented by technicians, planners and area managers
  • Becoming proficient in Engie procurement processes following all pertinent policies
  • Adheres to and promotes all Engie safety procedures relevant to warehouse tasks



What you'll bring:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years' experience in an industrial or utility environment working with parts ordering and management
  • Ability to become certified in safe forklift operation and inspection
  • Self-motivated and work well independently
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills that strike a balance among validation/verification, requirements analysis, customer interaction and project oversight

  • Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors, outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to use a company computer
  • Could involve some lifting / up to 50 lbs
