Administrative Fellow

The Administrative Fellow will participate in a 12 month rotational training program that will enhance their management/technical skills and ensure participants are knowledgeable in hospital operations / administration, systems/technology, clinical areas and finance. Assists administrative team with supporting project-based activities and acts as Project Manager for others. Supports the CEO with multiple projects, each with varying time lengths, through leading and procuring knowledge necessary to make educated decisions based on metrics, historical information and future predictions based on previous or expected performance. Position will be an acting member of the administrative team.

  • Become familiar with the corporate policies/procedures of the assigned corporate department as well as regulatory requirements and governing guidelines. Assists executive leadership, directors, and managers in the development and use of policies and procedures. Interprets policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, medical staff, etc., as necessary or instructed.
  • Establish goals that align with and support the department's goals and Acute Care Division objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership, service excellence, and political savvy through project assignments that require interaction with multiple disciplines including physicians, clinicians, and external constituents such as supplier representatives, governmental agencies, and consultants.
  • Participate in internal/external departmental meetings to gain a full understanding of the discipline and the groups that affect the department's ability to be effective. Functions as an active member of committees, as needed.
  • Attends and participates in selected medical staff committee and department meeting. Evaluates and implements recommendations as appropriate. Provides administrative input to decisions and direction of work. Supports and actively investigates actions and programs cited by medical staff.
  • Assists facility administrative team with supporting project-based actives and acting as Project Manager for others.
  • Meets regularly with CEO and physician leaders as appropriate to examine current performance, evaluate forecasts, and assure appropriate and timely intervention.
  • Supports the CEO with multiple projects, each with varying time lengths, through leading and procuring knowledge necessary to make educated decisions based on metrics, historical information and future predictions based on previous or expected performance.
  • Provides administrative support and leadership to the administrators, directors, managers, & Medical Staff with regards to the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day-to-day functions of various projects and activities to achieve outcomes.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial analysis on proposed new services or equipment to determine if their initiation or acquisition can be justified financially.
    Assists in reviewing monthly financial statements used in Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs).

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • MBA, MHA or related Degree, from an accredited college/university program required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in acute operations or other healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills, leadership skills, business management and executive disposition.
