As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and success of their organization. This is a fully remote position in the Buffalo, NY area. $100,000 - $120,000 Responsibilities: As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial functions, including but not limited to:
- Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, perform financial analysis, and generate detailed reports to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Invoicing: Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate billing to clients and customers. Monitor accounts receivable to ensure prompt payments.
- Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR): Manage vendor relationships, process payments, and monitor outstanding balances. Work closely with customers to resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. Handle payroll tax compliance and reporting.
- Grants Management: Collaborate with the grants team to manage financial aspects of grant applications and reporting. Ensure adherence to grant funding requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial statements, budget reports, and other financial analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or CPA qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Experience in handling complex accounting transactions and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks (preferred) and financial management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants effectively.
- Willingness to 'roll up your sleeves' to ensure customers pay on-time and vendors are paid on-time.
