What You'll Do Day-To-Day

    Plans, schedules and conducts independent assessments and surveillance of materials and products.
  • Reviews documents, prepares checklists, conducts assessment interviews and prepares assessment reports.
  • Ensures and documents that corrective actions are taken based on report findings.
  • Reviews QA procedures to verify compliance with ASME, ANSI and NRC regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of NRC or other pertinent regulations and industry codes and standards.
  • Develops and implements nuclear and/or non-nuclear quality assurance procedures to be followed for design, procurement, construction and/or operation of materials and/or processes.
  • Reviews quality assurance specifications, test reports and other documentation to ensure that safety and quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Inspects and reviews contractors' and vendors' work for compliance with QA standards.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:


* Quantifying measurement uncertainty using statistical methods and principles from the Guide to Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement.

* Interpreting uncertainty results to support decision-making, risk assessment, and compliance with tolerance requirements.

* Validating calibration methods through repeatability studies and method comparisons

* Optimizing calibration intervals using historical data, drift analysis, and risk-based approaches

* Establishing traceability chains to NIST

* Performing out-of-tolerance investigations to determine the impact of failed or drifting equipment on past measurements

* Developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions based on out-of-tolerance findings

* Developing and reviewing Zeiss Calypso measurement plans

* Maintain the GAGEtrak calibration database

* Create functional gaging CREO models and drawings

* Interpreting engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101)



What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Nuclear quality assurance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge related engineering and quality assurance standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.

  • Salary: $94,000 - $127,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
