Painter - Boerne, TX

Job Purpose

Supports all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost (SQDC) of the assigned production Value Stream(s).

Job Responsibilities

• Put Safety first at all times, never compromise on safety for the obtainment of other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.
• Perform manufacturing operations within a carbon fiber composite site, related to paint and painting products
• Accurately and efficiently set up equipment per engineering instructions.
• High attention to detail
• Execute daily start-up activities.
• Accurately complete/create documentation associated with production processes.
• Maintain a safe workspace/environment

Qualifications/Characteristics

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Previous manufacturing painting experience or comparable preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions.
• Physical demands of the job include: stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, light lifting (up to 25 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering and climbing
• Willingness for overtime and/or flexible work schedule

Additional Safety requirements for painter position:
Required to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to:

• Respiratory protection
• Protective clothing (coveralls, gloves)
• Eye and face protection

This position requires the ability to wear a tight-fitting respirator and successfully complete:

• Respirator medical evaluation
• Annual respirator fit testing

Depending on task, exposure level, or medical clearance, the employee may also be required to use a Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) system.

Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.

Physical requirements

Frequently positions sheets of material onto molds and/or manually sands parts, etc...

Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools - pliers, sanders, scissors, etc...

Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Must be able to detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts, etc...

Frequently moves molds and parts >25 lbs between work tables and carts

Wear appropriate PPE and qualify for PPE use as outlines above
