Job Title: Mainframe Engineer. Location: Jersey City, NJ. Role Overview: We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer to join our Batch Scheduling team. This role focuses on the configuration, optimization, and management of CA 7 Workload Automation (Broadcom). As we modernize our infrastructure, you will leverage Python for automation and utilize AAI (Automation Analytics & Intelligence) to provide predictive insights and enterprise-wide visibility of our batch environment. Key Responsibilities: Batch Management: Design, build, and configure complex job schedules using CA 7 Workload Automation. Infrastructure Optimization: Manage Broadcom software components and ensure high availability of the mainframe scheduling environment. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python to streamline manual scheduling tasks and integrate mainframe workflows with modern platforms. Predictive Analytics: Implement and manage Broadcom AAI (formerly Terma) to monitor critical paths, identify bottlenecks, and ensure SLA compliance. Configuration & Maintenance: Perform software upgrades, patches, and health checks for the CA 7 and AAI stacks. Cross-Platform Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams to manage workloads across hybrid environments, including Broadcom solutions hosted under VMware. Technical Qualifications: Core Expertise: Proven experience as a Mainframe Engineer with deep technical knowledge of CA 7 Workload Automation. Advanced Analytics: Hands-on experience with AAI (Automation Analytics & Intelligence) for cross-platform workload visualization and analytics. Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (specifically for automation and API integration). System Knowledge: Familiarity with z/OS environments and the deployment of Broadcom automation tools within VMware infrastructure. Problem Solving: Expertise in critical path analysis and troubleshooting complex batch failures. Preferred: Review of technical documentation for CA 7 Workload Automation at the Broadcom Support Portal. Explore advanced AAI (Automation Analytics & Intelligence) features for predictive modeling.
