Job Summary

We are seeking an Equipment Operator to support our construction project's field operations through the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, and loaders. This position plays a critical role in executing earthwork and civil construction activities in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and best industry practices. We are currently seeking skilled Equipment Operators to join our outstanding team in Prince of Wales, AK, USA.

Main Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy construction equipment in support of earthwork and civil construction activities.
  • Perform required pre-shift inspections, including checks of lights, brakes, fuel, oil, water, and other critical components.
  • Maintain a basic working knowledge of equipment mechanics and hydraulics to ensure proper operation and identify potential issues.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with best industry practices to promote equipment longevity, jobsite safety, and efficient production.
  • Read and interpret grade stakes and apply an understanding of civil construction practices to ensure accurate work execution.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, including proper housekeeping and care.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other project personnel to coordinate work activities.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.
Education
  • Minimum of two (2) years of equipment operating experience or 3,500 operating hours.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and implement both verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow internal and external policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
  • Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise.
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
