Position TitleAnalyst I - Cost

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate financial analysis projects.
  • Reviews, for accuracy, routine financial and business-related reports/analyses in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
  • Assists in reviewing routine forecasts in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas as instructed.
  • Utilizing PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software, compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.
  • May assist in the month end closing process.
  • Analyze, reconcile, report, and prepare journal entries.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related degree and meaningful accounting coursework.
  • Relevant internship or other work experience, preferred.
  • Entry level position.
  • Applies knowledge; has basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in a function.
  • Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals within scope of basic knowledge and skills within own function.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and financial theory, and of financial analysis techniques.
  • Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; applies limited judgement and discretion.
  • Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers.
  • Works within guidelines and direction provided by others to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Math skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills
