Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is seeing a Clinical Dietitian to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. The Clinical Dietitian utilizes expert knowledge and skills in specialty areas, provides individualized medical nutrition therapy to assigned patient population. Provides leadership in the department by researching, implementing or designing evidence-based nutrition interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Practices with a high degree of professional autonomy and responsibility through interdisciplinary team communication and ongoing education of team members.
  • Responsible for meeting national accreditation requirements as well as development of internal policy and procedures specific to care process.
  • May order lab tests for patients when applicable to the treatment plan for purposes patient safety and communication with providers.
  • Collaborate closely with infusion companies to ensure correct orders; supports patient and families when working through insurance issues
  • Plans, drives and promotes community-based nutrition and wellness education for population served.
  • Drives improvement and clinical research, quality and or patient safety initiatives.
  • Participates in the orientation and serves as preceptor/trainer of students and new dietitians.
  • Provides direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy.
  • Teach nutrition and healthful eating classes to patient or community groups which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Performs other functions as required.

Qualifications:

Level III

  • Master's Degree required or bachelor's with 2 years of additional experience in lieu of Master's degree.
  • 8 years' experience in medical nutrition therapy in area of specialty
  • Licensed Dietitian-NM Reg & License (LD-NM RL)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • MUST HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
    Certifications in CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator), CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), or Certificate of Training in Obesity for Pediatrics and Adults through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Management.
  • BLS Certification required at time of hire.

Level II

  • Master's Degree requires bachelor's with 2 years of additional experience in lieu of master's degree.
  • 16 months Experience in medical nutrition therapy in area of specialty
  • Licensed Dietitian-NM Reg & License (LD-NM RL)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • MUST HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • Certifications in CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator), CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician), or Certificate of Training in Obesity for Pediatrics and Adults through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Management

Level I

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Licensed Dietitian-NM Reg & License (LD-NM RL)
