Summary:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant who specializes in Gastroenterology medicine.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct advanced Gastroenterology assessment of patient, documenting pertinent findings.
* Initiates, performs and interprets diagnostic tests. and/or endoscopic procedures.
* Systematically compares and contrast clinical diagnostic findings with normal and abnormal variations in making differential diagnoses.
* Identifies expected outcomes that incorporate evidence-based practice
* Designs strategies Utilize evidence-based care practices to meet the multifaceted needs of complex patients.
* Selects therapeutic interventions that reflect current clinical judgment.
* Evaluates diagnoses and the effectiveness of the interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
* Prescribes treatments, therapy procedures, and medications in accordance with New York State and federal law.
* Consider the patients comprehensive overall health needs with integrated delivery of patient care.
* Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
* Perform other job-related duties as required.
* Participate in Staff educational programs and meetings

Qualifications:
* Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
* Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
* Seeking a minimum of 2 years' and above experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner assessing gastroenterology medical conditions.
* Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
* Must possess current, unencumbered New York State Nursing (RN) license.
* Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
* Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
* Comfortable with the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and Microsoft Office

Qualifications:

* Physician Assistant: Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies
* Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies
* Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
* Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
* Seeking experienced - 2 years and above
* Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration
* Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll
* ACLS certification required
* Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written
* Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
