Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Manager of Oncology Operations to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift Monday- Friday between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Manager Oncology Operations Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
  • Performs appropriate counseling concerning performance or corrective discipline for team members.
  • Acts as a consultant and clinical resource to clinic staff through the provision of patient care and coordination of care.
  • Supports patient advocacy and Patients' Bill of Rights. Develops, maintains and evaluates patient care standards for clinics.
  • Directs adjustments in the clinic staffing pattern to reflect changes in care requirements, patient census and staffing resources.
  • Participates in the development and evaluation of staffing plans based on departmental focus and ensures adequate staffing levels with an appropriate skill mix to guarantee quality patient care.
  • Takes ownership for the promotion/termination of team members based on standards of practice/care, nursing and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a unit-based/multidisciplinary quality improvement program that incorporates patient care standards and meets The Joint Commission guidelines for ambulatory care. Incorporates oncology standards of care based on ASCO, ONS and Advisory Board recommendations.
  • Serves as a Liaison with the medical staff to identify issues of mutual concern, solve problems, review staffing plans and ensure effective clinic operations.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, Or Clinical Credentials (Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse), Or 8 years of management experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 3 years of healthcare management experience
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse if no Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exp. with EPIC in patient registration
  • Knowledge and experience with Revenue cycle
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
