Description

The position will oversee the company's project-based accounting function and be responsible for project life cycle from set up to close out. This candidate will ensure accurate revenue recognition, timely customer invoicing, and compliance with contractual requirements. The ideal candidate has excellent experience, thrives in a high-growth environment, and can balance hands-on execution in a rapidly growing company.This position will report to the Controller and is based in Herndon, Virginia.

As the Senior Staff Accountant , your main responsibilities will be:

• Have a strong understanding of Government Contracting.
• Have an in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with ASC 606, Revenue Recognition, and accurately apply the standard to all customer projects.
• Have Deltek Costpoint Experience with emphasis on Projects, Revenue, and Billings.
• Understanding of indirect rates.
• Own the entire project life cycle accounting from initial set up to contract close out.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, contracts, and program management to support growth and ensure financial accuracy.
• Maintain, monitor, and reconcile Bookings and Backlog
• Support year end audit effort
• Support overall accounting and finance functions as needed.
• Drive automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting.
• Be a trusted advisor to the team.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience with ASC 606.
• Overall strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication ability.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently.

Desirable:

• Comfortable working in fact paced environment with minimal supervision
• Team player and ability to collaboratively work with others
• Success-oriented mentality, conveying a sense of urgency and driving issues to closure
• Ability of take ownership of projects/programs from planning through to execution
• Ability to rapidly solve problems.
• Ability to work well with all levels of all company disciplines (i.e., Contracts, HR, etc.).

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 annually

HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
