Funding Resources Specialist II Halff has an opening for an experienced Funding Resources Specialist to join our Funding Resources team. This position could be out of our Austin, Richardson, or Dallas, TX office with the possibility of a hybrid or remote schedule. The Funding Resources Specialist II builds on the foundational role of the Specialist I by taking on more responsibility in identifying and securing funding opportunities for the firm. This mid-level position focuses on leading the proposal development process, building relationships with funding agencies, and coordinating cross-functional teams. The Specialist II is expected to have a deeper understanding of the funding landscape and greater autonomy in managing tasks and deadlines. What you will do:
- Leads the identification and evaluation of funding opportunities, including grants and loans that align with the firm's goals.
- Assists in and oversees the development of proposals and ensures that all required documentation is complete and compliant with funding guidelines.
- Develops and manages relationships with funding agencies, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Coordinates with internal departments, including Marketing, Engineering, and Business Development, to gather necessary data for funding applications.
- Reviews and interprets funding criteria and guidelines to ensure full compliance.
- Provides Research team staff information for the firm's funding resources database.
- Analyzes potential funding opportunities to assess risk, feasibility, and alignment with project objectives.
- Provides training and guidance to junior team members in proposal development and funding research.
- Prepares presentations and reports for leadership on current and upcoming funding opportunities.
- Represents the firm at relevant networking events, conferences, and meetings with potential funding sources.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in funding, grant writing, or business development.
- Experience in an engineering or consulting firm highly preferred.
- Advanced research and analytical skills.
- Strong project management abilities, including coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including proposal writing.
- Knowledge of funding processes, including grants, loans, and public funding sources.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- May need to travel to various office locations.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
