Position Summary The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with PhD-level training and expertise in medical imaging, image segmentation, and artificial intelligence, with a strong interest in cerebrovascular disease, stroke, brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), intracranial atherosclerotic disease, and flow-based imaging. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work within a multidisciplinary cerebrovascular research program focused on quantitative imaging, hemodynamics, and AI-based prediction of clinical outcomes, with direct relevance to patient selection, treatment planning, and longitudinal follow-up in neurovascular disease. Duties & Responsibilities Stroke imaging and outcome prediction, including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke Brain AVMs and dural arteriovenous fistulas, with emphasis on flow dynamics and hemorrhage risk stratification Intracranial stenosis and cerebrovascular hemodynamics Quantitative and flow-based imaging (e.g., angiography, perfusion imaging, QDSA, 4D Flow MRI, advanced MRI/CT techniques) AI-driven imaging biomarkers for treatment selection and prognosis Minimum Qualifications
