Job Summary

Under the direction of the Telehealth Operations Manager, Director, and Medical Director for the Telehealth Program, the Project Policy Analyst IV is responsible for telehealth program implementation and operations, driving adoption/integration of technical, innovative, and strategic initiatives within Ambulatory Operations. In coordination and alignment with Ambulatory Operations Leadership teams, the position will participate in project management activities that encompass ambulatory care and inpatient virtual and telehealth initiatives, performance measures and metrics, integration, and clinical outcome analytics. The incumbent will also participate in the planning, development, and implementation of new or enhanced business processes that align with new programs and technological advancements. The incumbent will support high-value strategic initiatives and advance and mature digital and telehealth modalities within the ambulatory and inpatient settings. The incumbent will stay current with best practices, relevant telehealth policy, and recommend changes in department practices and provide data to inform quality and operational improvement initiatives. This position will exercise initiative, originality, and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. The incumbent must also demonstrate extensive project management skills, effective communication skills and professionalism dealing with personnel at all levels in the health system, UC campus, UC medical centers and external entities.

The Project Policy Analyst IV is an experienced professional with a high degree of operational and technical knowledge. The incumbent functions independently to manage project framework processes and methodologies involving departmental, cross-functional, and multi-disciplinary teams, while prioritizing a team-based approach to ensure communication and collaboration with unit members and internal stakeholders for consistent messaging to leadership and external partners. This position will interact with all levels of management and staff in Information Technology, Compliance, Legal and Risk, Health Information Management, Revenue Integrity, Hospital Operations, Ambulatory Operations, Strategy and Growth, and other departments within UCDH and UC Health. Analyst will need to be able to travel to clinical sites and work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed to accommodate operational and project needs

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience and training
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive program/project management experience
  • Experience in program and project management necessary to support telehealth program operations
  • Demonstrated understanding of telehealth and digital health care delivery models and the impact on the clinical workforce and patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to express ideas assertively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with others to secure necessary information and cooperation from a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and develop/manage partnerships, seeking input from others and creating ad hoc teams as required to address challenges.
  • Able to articulate and support the UCDH mission, vision, and values as well as departmental goals.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality of hospital and patient information at all times.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practices and principles.
  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Ambulatory Care Division: Providing comprehensive ambulatory services to patients across the Sacramento region through 74 clinics at 32 locations. We offer services in hospital-based clinics, a network of multispecialty off-campus clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient clinical affiliations. We also provide a vast array of virtual options for primary and specialty video visits, eConsults, extended hours telehealth express care, inpatient telehealth programs, and home care services.

Work Environment
