Account Manager

(Power & Actuation Systems)



As a member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Government proposal responses, ensuring timely, compliant, and compelling submission in support of the Contracts Administration, Business Development and Program Management teams for Power & Actuation Systems Business Unit. The Account Manager role demands hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to work across functional teams in a fast-paced, small-business environment. This will include coordination and distribution of documents, coordinating, organizing, and scheduling team meetings, and being the central point of contact for the team for correspondence.


Our sales activity includes products sold directly to the US Government, major US/Foreign Prime Contractors, Foreign Militaries (FMS), and to the Commercial sector.


Job Summary of the position:

The Account Manager (Proposals, Contracts & Sales Orders) is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of customer engagements-from proposal development and bid management through contract execution and sales order fulfillment. This role serves as a key interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality proposals, contracts, and orders in support of Marotta's aerospace and defense programs.

This position requires strong ownership, flexibility, and the ability to support time-critical business needs in a fast-paced environment.

  1. Essential job functions and responsibilities

    • Manage major proposal responses from receipt of qualified RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs through final submission.
    • Serve as the Business Unit's de facto Bid Manager for front-end proposal and customer capture efforts.
    • Support development of proposal strategies, win themes, storyboards, and content.
    • Coordinate proposal efforts across internal teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, Contracts, Subcontractors, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources.
    • Monitor proposal development to ensure completeness, compliance with RFx requirements, and inclusion of discriminators and win themes.
    • Assemble final proposal packages, including all required supporting data and documentation.
    • Coordinate pricing reviews and secure required internal approvals prior to submittal.
    • Track proposal progress, performance metrics, and on-time delivery.
    • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes.
    • Maintain proposal pipeline, tracking, and forecasting tools (Salesforce).
    • Administer assigned contracts, including contract modifications, amendments, funding actions, and scope changes.
    • Review customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with negotiated terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements.
    • Develop and review prime contract and subcontract flow-down documentation to minimize risk and ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and customer requirements.
    • Serve as a liaison with customers, Program Management, and functional teams to resolve contractual issues and support successful execution.
    • Generate, maintain, and manage contract documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
    • Support contract negotiations, execution, and ongoing management activities.
    • Responsible for accurate and timely Sales Order entry and review.
    • Ensure Sales Orders comply with contractual requirements, customer purchase orders, and internal policies.
    • Support order fulfillment activities, including delivery schedules, funding alignment and contractual commitments.
    • Assist in resolving order discrepancies and customer inquires.
    • Coordinate internal reviews and approvals required for proposals, contracts and orders.
    • Support program priorities by assisting across functions as needed to meet customer and business commitments.






  1. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline preferred.
    • 3-5+ years of experience in proposal management, contract administration, or account management.
    • Experience managing multiple concurrent proposals and priorities with minimal oversight.
    • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and federal procurement practices.
    • Experience with various contract types including Fixed-Price, Time & Material, BPAs, IDIQs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Experience with Salesforce CRM and Epicor ERP strongly preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ corporate offices location.

Pay Range: $87,600-$98,990
