Job Summary The Employer Relations Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Employer Relations and is an integral member of the Steinbright Career Development Center's Employer Relations team. The Employer Relations Specialist is primarily responsible for developing job opportunities for Drexel's co-op program. Additionally, the Employer Relations Specialist and team also help to develop job opportunities for Drexel's graduating seniors, adult learners, and alumni. This role helps achieve Steinbright's and Drexel's strategic goals by innovating and executing partnership development initiatives between Drexel University and surrounding companies and organizations.
Strong communication, writing, networking, research, and organization skills are required to be successful in this role. Employer Relations Specialists are not directly working with, or providing advising services to, Drexel students.
This position is Hybrid/Remote. Candidates must be located in the greater Philadelphia area to attend University-related events and conduct site/employer meetings several times a year. The Steinbright Career Development Center's on-campus location has several office spaces that are shared and reservation-based for staff as well where office space can be utilized as needed/requested. Essential Functions
- Build and develop a pipeline of high quality collaborations, partnerships, and job opportunities for Drexel students by communicating and cultivating relationships with employers/organizations.
- Identify and engage with prospective employers and partners on professional social media sites and websites.
- Utilize internal customer relationship management systems and accompanying/available tools to track and follow-up on engagement and development activity and strategy.
- Provide account management services to co-op employers engaged within the co-op recruiting process as needed.
- Collaborate with Steinbright's Career Services team to help manage our portfolio of employers and jobs within the Handshake system
- Participate in Steinbright/Drexel career fairs, workshops, and other career related events.
- Collaborate with Drexel University departments, faculty, student groups, alumni relations, etc., to aid in growing revenue-generating collaborations and jobs for students & alumni in key growth and strategic areas
- Network at alumni career services affairs, trade shows, conferences, industry events and professional societies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, human resources, sales, marketing, higher education or related major or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a client-facing role.
- Ability to communicate effectively, most commonly through video chat, phone, and/or in person.
- Demonstrated competence in developing and managing internal and external relationships.
- Self-starter with ability to adapt, prioritize, and innovate.
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of organizational skills and consistent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines and goals.
- Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with employers, staff and faculty.
- Strong demonstrated technical skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis and report generation.
- Ability to travel to events and meetings in the greater Philadelphia area.

Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
