Job Title: Yard Attendant

Location: Bellevue, NE

Position Summary

The Yard Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard and facility to support daily sanitation operations. This role supports drivers, mechanics, and operations staff by ensuring containers, equipment, and vehicles are properly staged, cleaned, and ready for service. Safety, reliability, and teamwork are critical to success in this role.

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, shop, and surrounding facility areas
• Move, stage, and organize refuse, recycling, and roll-off containers as directed
• Assist with washing and basic cleaning of trucks, containers, and equipment
• Perform general labor duties including sweeping, shoveling, and debris removal
• Conduct visual inspections of containers and equipment, report damage or safety concerns
• Assist drivers and mechanics with yard-related tasks as needed
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operations

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in sanitation, construction, warehouse, or outdoor labor is a plus
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset with a dependable work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and vehicles
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors for extended periods

Work Environment

• Outdoor yard and shop environment
• Exposure to weather, dust, odors, and noise
• Interaction with heavy machinery, refuse trucks, and containers
