Job Description




As a Security Officer - Medical Facility Patrol in Landover, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned healthcare locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for staff and visitors. You will conduct regular rounds throughout the facility, deliver outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with all individuals on-site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the overall security-related needs of the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings while on patrol, reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist visitors, patients, and staff with wayfinding and general inquiries while upholding security-related protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all individuals encountered during shifts, including providing information and support as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
