Security Officer - Retail Access Control

As a Security Officer - Retail Access Control in WINCHESTER, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional assigned to an access control post in a retail distribution setting, you will monitor entry points, manage badge access, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. Your presence will help create a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation in a dynamic retail location.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with access control as needed.
• Monitor and control access points within the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter and report irregularities.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance needs within the location.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all security-related activities, incidents, and/or interactions at the site.
• Work closely with site management and/or local law enforcement as required, supporting access control and security-related objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
