Mission of the Role
This position is part of the Training Program Management Office within SICK North America's Sales and Service Cluster and is responsible for the hands-on technical training of SICK Solutions. The incumbent champions the employee development journey and provides hands-on technical training to ensure the delivery of SICK products, systems and services. The incumbent collaborates with Services, Market Product Mangers, and globally with partners in the Sensor Intelligence Academy Training & Education, and Strategic Product Managers to identify the training requirements, develop and execute the training, and measure outcomes. The audiences may consist of direct SICK employees, distribution and integration partners, and/or the end-users of SICK solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementation and success of the technical competence development at SICK, Inc, with primary focus being Service execution.
- Identifies gaps in competence in SICK technologies and solutions and collaborates with stakeholders, leaders and global colleagues to create, deliver and track training to ensure individuals have the right competence to fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining training content which may be delivered in-person, in a virtual environment, and/or a web-based platform. The audience for the training may be SICK direct employees, distributors / integrators, and/or end-users.
- Analyzes current processes and programs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and collaborates with global partners and/or local subject matter experts and leaders to design, implement, or improve Service competencies.
- May participate in cross-functional teams to launch, manage or improve competency development within Services.
- Ensures assigned processes/projects are aligned with business outcomes, measures results and provides reports to leaders, and anticipates the requirements for continuous improvement in area of responsibility.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to develop or improve Service execution.
- Responsible for the SIA (Sensor Intelligence Academy) Technical Training Lab / Classroom and the maintenance of all training equipment.
- Makes data-driven decisions on projects and processes to achieve business objectives.
- Responsible for identifying and requesting resources required for the implementation of training programs.
- Represents SICK, Inc on global cross-functional teams relating to assigned projects or processes.
- Manage times, travel expenses, and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
- Carries out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Five or more years of experience installing and configuring automated systems within the Logistics Automation field or experience teaching mechatronics.
- Education: Associates degree in mechatronics-related field; four-year degree in mechatronics-related field preferred.
- Position-specific Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical competency and experience in factory and logistics automation.
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems, robotics, and vision solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in technical writing a plus.
- Experience in training content development and development software, such as Articulate.
- Legally permitted to work in the United States. (*This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.)
- Ability to read basic CAD designs, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Computer/Technological: Professional competence with Microsoft Office products.
- Language: Professional written and spoken fluency in English required.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, full time; be on-call on some weekends (if required).
- General Working Conditions: Be able to work in an office environment five days a week. Computer monitor more than 4 hours a day. Will periodically require multiple hours of standing to conduct trainings along with some lifting for demonstrations and kit set up.
- Travel: Be able to travel up to 25% of the time, including internationally; must have a valid passport.

Compensation
The base salary is one part of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below; the actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, licenses/certifications, business needs and other job-related factors, as permitted by law.
- Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $74,550 - $112,750
