Markem-Imaje, A Dover Company, is a trusted world manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions, offering a full line of reliable and innovative inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, print and apply label systems. Markem-Imaje delivers fully integrated solutions that enable product quality and safety, regulatory and retailer compliance, better product recalls and improved manufacturing processes. Based in Downers Grove, IL, Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV). Dover is a diversified global manufacturer and solutions provider with annual revenue of approximately $8 billion. The Role... In this role the Chemical Process Engineer IV will develop access routes to a target product to make it industrialized, by using the synthesis scheme developed in research or by modifying it in whole or part. They will also design, implement, and support serial production lines or components for these products. To do this the Chemical Process Engineer IV must optimize each stage of the process, starting from what has been done by R&D or by imagining other access routes while respecting precise quality criteria. They must ensure industrial feasibility from the point of view of ease of access, reproducibility, hygiene and safety, the cost of access to raw materials, yields, control of effluence, all in compliance with environmental regulations and constraints. Job Responsibilities: The Chemical Engineer IV is at the heart of this process. They begin by dialoguing with researchers to define what we call the bases of industrialization: choice of reaction conditions (catalyst, temperature, pressure, selection of raw materials and solvents). Then follows the selection of the process diagram with its unit operations considering the kinetic and thermodynamic data. They decide whether to go through a piloting phase before moving on to the implementation engineering phase. * The work then consists of establishing process IFD / PFD (Industrial / Process Flow Diagram), material and heat balances (enthalpy balance), defining the nature of the materials to be used, identifying the main equipment (reactor, heat exchangers, etc.) and defining the instrumentation. P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) as well as the definition of the equipment (Specification Sheets), and everything that will be necessary for engineering to build the production tool meeting the requirements criteria of reliability, economy, safety and environment. * They will be capable of supporting personally or coordinating process engineering from mechanical or automation side. Leading technical discussion on automation, machines design and chemicals impact. * They contribute to the calculation of the cost price of the manufactured product, an essential element in determining the profitability of a project based on the volume and amount of sales. * Work closely to other process engineer team members, mechanical PE or automation PE, to be able to lead design and deployment of new equipment or line: This will start at chemical make stage and will end at automatic filling, packaging. * They will work in collaboration upstream with the R&D teams and downstream with the process engineering team members, manufacturing engineers & production teams. * They will have in-depth knowledge of chemistry and must maintain constant scientific monitoring. * This high scientific level must allow the engineer to imagine and implement alternative solutions to achieve the defined objectives. * They will possess strong records on designing, deploying, supporting automatic manufacturing / packaging lines. * They will demonstrate creativity, rigor, team spirit, ability to summarize, deep dive to give a clear summary of the result and analysis, and a desire to learn. * The chemical engineer is the conductor of the industrialization process which consists of defining, building, starting and operating the industrial tool. * Engineering degree in chemical engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in industrial process engineering in the chemical industry. * Availability to travel internationally 20-25% Work Arrangement: Onsite Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
