Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Hospital Roving in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This role requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing excellent customer service and communication while supporting a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and promoting a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help control access and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and/or law enforcement as appropriate to address security-related matters.
  • Document incidents, observations, and/or activities in accordance with Allied Universal protocols and client requirements.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond appropriately to any security-related threats or emergencies within the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A minimum of six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
