The Federal Civilian business unit supports many customers spanning the federal, commercial, and nonprofit space. Our customers include NASA, the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, the Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, and the FDIC. We partner with these agencies to build new capabilities, deliver products, establish data as a strategic asset for informed decision-making, modernize legacy systems, and build the digital service infrastructure necessary to scale their mission impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

Principal Product Manager serves as a subject matter expert, while serving as an individual contributor that provides mentorship associated with data competencies. A Principal Product Manager exhibits influential skills to shape future work streams within the current customer base, while maintaining a strategic vision to successfully pursue new business opportunities. With limited oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for cohesively integrating industry product management trends and devising a plan for adoption within programs, as well as the business unit. A Principal Product Manager serves as a representative of the business unit, effectively communicating product management strategies to a diverse audience. Primary expectations of a Principal Product Manager include:




  • Demonstrates significant product competence and ownership to broad audiences while driving progress on company and business unit strategic objectives



  • Proactively creates and explores new areas of opportunity for the business unit



  • Mentors, guides, and coaches product team members



  • Identifies and designs solutions to enable teams to scale quickly and reliably



  • Effectively communicates on existing systems, design decisions, past performance and a major history of projects that they've been part of for bid-writing, tech demos and other customer-facing communications



  • Understanding of the business unit's current labor mix, with the ability to identify primary skills and experiences; supports the key personnel identification process



  • Champions collaboration with teams across the programs/portfolio to identify product needs and deliver solutions to advance medium and long-term technology goals



  • Leads and prioritizes product efforts across a portfolio of products or programs and draws connections across siloed workflows



  • In-depth knowledge of the business unit customer portfolio, understanding customer operations, work and approval processes, and objectives



  • May support hiring, onboarding and career development activities



  • Extensive understanding of government and practice market conditions in order to drive organizational improvements and innovation



  • Collaborates with Product leadership to develop internal practices, and strategic initiatives



  • May represent the company publicly inclusive of writing blog posts, generating marketing materials, presenting at conferences, and taking part in panel discussions





Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience related to the field of which 4 years must be specialized related to the specific subject area



  • Provides deep domain knowledge in consular operation, scheduling policy, and enterprise modernization in complex federal environments



  • Advises on customer success, roadmap, product configuration, rollout sequencing, and policy driven rule implementation, ensuring global deployments align with operational realities, compliance requirements, and mission priorities while minimizing risk to service continuity



  • 5+ years experience directing assignments for cross-functional teams




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Ability to obtain/maintain any of the following:




    • CSPO, CPM, CSM or other related certifications

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 - $175,000.
