The Senior Software Engineer will design and build the backend service stack for the Copilot Agent Platform, focusing on scalable APIs and orchestration components that power AI experiences at global scale. This role involves deep backend engineering-optimizing distributed systems, ensuring low-latency performance, and enabling secure integrations. You'll collaborate with science and engineering teams to deliver new capabilities, empower partners to build Copilots and Agents, and create seamless multimodal experiences across desktop and mobile for text, image, audio, and beyond.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesArchitect and build a secure and performant Copilot platform services that power Microsoft M365 Copilot and other next-generation Copilot and Agent scenarios.Partner with Science, PM and Design counterparts to understand product requirements and latest trends in industry to drive architectural changes as required to improve scale, reliability and agility of the Product.Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for the platform.Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook and upholding high operational excellence.Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of the platform while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.Define success metrics and improve those metrics based on platform / product evolution.Embody Microsoft's Culture and Values and help shape the direction of the engineering team and broader organization. | |
