ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and evangelizing DevOps practices, pipelines, and infrastructure. You will help define and maintain the roadmap for the DevOps team, aligning it with the company's technology and business objectives. This role involves guiding the team, driving automation, and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable deployment processes across our platforms.

Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing best practices for version control, configuration management, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

    • 8+ years of professional experience on a DevOps team or in a similar role.

  • Technical Expertise

    • Expert knowledge of Cloud DevOps tech stack and hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.

    • Proven ability to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using AWS services (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy).

    • Strong experience with Blue/Green Deployments for Lambda and microservices.

    • Expert knowledge of Elastic Containers and Elastic Container Services (ECS).

    • Experience deploying and managing serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and serverless frameworks.

    • Advanced skills in CI/CD frameworks (preferably GitHub Actions) and Git for version control.

    • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.

    • Strong understanding of AWS security: IAM, security groups, bucket policies, ACLs, encryption, and compliance.

    • Scripting experience in Python and Shell (Spark is a plus).

    • Ability to optimize AWS resource utilization and costs using autoscaling, reserved instances, or spot pricing.

  • Data & Platform Knowledge

    • Experience supporting data engineering teams with infrastructure and AWS best practices.

    • Hands-on management of databases (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake) and the Databricks cloud platform, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

    • Familiarity with distributed data architectures and big data technologies (Spark, EMR, Hadoop, Hive) is a plus.

    • Understanding of best practices for data warehousing, data modeling, and data lakes/lakehouses is a plus.

  • Professional Skills

    • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.

    • Expert understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle.

    • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and on-call support capabilities.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse engineering and business teams.

  • Certification

    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (or equivalent AWS certification)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-163,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
