Director of Nursing

This opportunity offers a full-time exempt position. Work hours are generally between 7am-4:30pm with the expectation of flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Clarion Psychiatric Center offers inpatient treatment for adults with moderate to severe psychiatric problems, inpatient crisis stabilization for children and adolescents, and a Partial Hospitalization Program for school-aged children. Our recently expanded 112-bed inpatient program has 4 units. Qualifications

Description:

  • The Director of Nursing supervises all Nursing and Mental Health Technicians and other staff as needed. The Director of Nursing develops strategies to ensure maximum hospital benefit and utilization. Coordinates successful interface with other departments throughout the hospital. Director effectively interfaces with Physicians and clinical staff to ensure appropriate patient care. Director of Nursing oversees necessary hospital reporting, census regulation, and safety standards. Exercises direct operational and functional supervision of all nursing program staff. Is directly responsible to interview, select, evaluate and terminate Nursing Department Staff. Ensures 24 hour, 7 day a week adequate allocation of competent staff to include nursing staff within the designated position control plan for a given census. Ensure program milieu is therapeutic, safe, secure, and in compliance with the request of quality care standards at all times.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree: Required
  • Provide supervision, strategic use of resources, and performance management for Nursing staff.
  • Maintain data collection, reporting and data analysis to make strategic decisions for all reporting staff.
  • Act as a Senior Leader for the Hospital, participating in all leadership and strategic initiatives and goals.
