Job Summary The Employee Health and Well-Being Nurse is directly involved in promoting, protecting, restoring and maintaining physicians and caregivers health within the context of a safe and healthful work environment consistent with the philosophy, goals and policies of Monument Health.

- Actively participates in Survey processes with those agencies upon request.
- Assist and contact the injured worker upon receipt of incident report to coordinate additional medical treatment which can include direct referral to the Emergency Department, Physician referral and Physical or Occupational therapy when appropriate. Provide initial nursing assessment, minor first aide care and coordinates minor medical treatment and follow up.
- Coordinates tracking and trending the data entry related to recommended immunizations in compliance with CDC, APIC, OSHA and Department of Health recommendations for Healthcare workers including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, MMR VZ and influenza Vaccinations. Stays current with all governing agency guidelines.
- Collaborates with the Director of Safety Services, Human Resources leadership, supervisor and Industrial rehabilitation on issues and concerns about occupational illness/injuries as they arise.
- Develops/implements/coordinates programs to improve general health of providers and caregivers and decrease transmission of disease to patients and other caregivers. Tracks and performs annual Fit-test/TBST as appropriate.
- Develops/implements/coordinates the programs of Employee Health & Well-Being services. Investigate/coordinates all follow up of needle stick/ sharps/blood-borne pathogen exposures to infectious diseases, direct employee to the emergency department and provide prophylaxis as ordered by the physician when indicated.
- Completes pre-employment screenings for physicians, caregivers and volunteers.
- Processes screening results with the individual and ancillary department if needed, and directs appropriate action when indicated.
- Contacts all injured caregivers upon receipt of the initial event report, conducts initial post-injury interview, provides minor first aide care, coordinates initial medical referral if necessary and files the Employers First Report of Injury with the third party administrator (TPA) and the Department of Labor. Oversees the OSHA recordkeeping processes and continues to manage the Workers' Compensation claim including communication with the coordination of return to work plans, TPA, nurse case managers, Legal Department, safety and medical providers.

Additional Requirements Required: Certification - Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Preferred: Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing Certification - Occupational Health Nursing Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals Experience - 3+ years of Immunization Schedule and Administration Experience; 3+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
