Salk Institute Location La Jolla, CA Open Date Sep 18, 2025 Description The Salk Institute is seeking faculty members at the Assistant Professor level to pioneer independent research programs using innovative approaches to study frontiers of research in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and neurodegeneration. Areas of interest include human genetics and genetic risk factors for AD/ADRD; brain-body connections and impact on AD; neuroimmunology and the role of inflammation in neurodegeneration; metabolism and systemic influences on brain health; vaccine-related mechanisms and novel preventive strategies; development of new technologies to interrogate and model neurodegeneration. The chosen candidate will join a group of highly interactive faculty at the Salk Institute studying Alzheimer's disease and age-related neurodegeneration. Why Join Us? Competitive Compensation Package: The chosen candidate will receive a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a substantial start-up package to support their research endeavors. The expected pay range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000. The Salk Institute provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the institute reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. |
