Position Summary The Salvation Army Northern Division 360 Life Center serving Dakota, Scott, and Carver counties, in Burnsville, MN, is committed to "Doing the Most Good" providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families. In addition to pastoral care, the center offers short- and long-term case management; assistance with food, clothing, utilities, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners. The Social Services Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and direct assistance to program participants, helping ensure the smooth operation of social service programs. $19 - $21 per hour, 40 hours a week 13801 Fairview Dr. Burnsville, MN 55337 Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
- Information Requests (40%): Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries; route individuals to the appropriate staff or community resources.
- Administrative Support (25%): Complete clerical duties including data entry, filing, scheduling, and general office operations.
- Participant Assistance (20%): Assist program participants with paperwork and share information about the Pathway of Hope and other available services and events.
- Program Support (10%): Support the delivery of core programs, including food shelf operations and senior nutrition initiatives. Assist with volunteer scheduling and coordination.
- Event Assistance (5%): Provide logistical and on-site support for special and seasonal events such as Toy Shop and Dakota, Scott, and Carver counties community programs.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in social services, clerical, or administrative support required.
- Must pass background checks.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet MVR driver qualifications preferred.
