Anticipated Wage: $18.81-$23.80/hr. This position is on a 4th Shift Schedule: Team B: 7pm to 7am & Team D: 7pm to 7am SUMMARY: Maintain GMP status of EVAP Packaging and Dryer areas by performing sanitation duties, operating assigned equipment, and supporting production activities. Assist with rework, communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, and report safety or food safety concerns promptly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: All duties must be performed while adhering to Tree Top Standard Operating Procedures, GMP Policy, Safety Policy (including Lock-Out Tag-Out), and all other company policies. Employees are responsible for reporting any food safety or safety concerns. This is a representative example but not limited to responsibilities and tasks.
- Operate Equipment
- Look at and listen to maintenance problems.
- Clean chains as necessary
- Complete any other tasks as required by Packing Team Lead
- Operate forklift and pallet jack safely; move waste bins, stage empty bins, and remove pallets as required.
- Relieve Packaging Team Leads and Fillers as required; process rework as assigned.
- Assist Packaging operations as needed and support equipment monitoring to ensure proper product flow.
- Follow proper compliance for rework assignments.
- Communicate Effectively
- Exchange information with Team Leaders, Supervisors, Mechanics, Operators, Lab Techs, and co-workers.
- Consult Team Leader regarding characteristics of product supply.
- Communicate operation information to appropriate personnel.
- Update incoming shifts on operational and sanitation status.
- Report on mechanical issues to appropriate personnel.
- Paperwork
- Accurately complete required paperwork, including bin weight records and daily operational/sanitation logs.
- Maintain Sanitation of Area
- Rinse down entire dryer and packaging rooms.
- Use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals where necessary.
- Clean floor: shovel products into waste bin as needed.
- Wash the floor as needed
- Pick up apple piles with doffer brushes; empty pans in transfers as needed.
- Ensure ladders and utensils are hung up in designated location.
- Roll up all hoses when not in use.
- Maintain GMPs
- Adhere to GMP standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized; sweep floors, rinse and pressure-wash as required, unplug drains, empty bins and garbage cans.
- Clean and sanitize equipment in Packaging and Dryer areas following approved procedures and using proper chemicals.
- Perform cleaning procedures in correct sequence; ensure utensils, hoses, and ladders are stored properly.
- Pick up product waste and debris, shovel product into bins, rinse floors.
- Monitor area for unusual odors and ensure GMP standards are consistently met
- Ensure Food Safety by Following HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)
- Wash hands, maintain personal hygiene, and follow PPE and color code policies.
- Ensure chemicals are stored, labeled, and used properly.
- Avoid spilling oil or cleaning liquids on food contact surfaces during production.
- Avoid cross-contamination of food and non-grade utensils.
- Prevent cross-contamination and avoid use of contaminated raw materials.
- Follow color code policy.
- Follow all plant policies and procedures, and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices
- Verify chemicals and ingredients prior to use.
- Do not use contaminated raw materials.
- Ensure process flow is being adhere to
- Follow Foreign Material Procedures and verify all materials before use.
- Lock-Out Tag-Out
- Follow all Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures during production and sanitation steps.
- Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures during (washing/cleaning machinery, etc.)
- Other Duties
- Train new employees in sanitation processes.
- Relieve co-workers during breaks as needed.
- Crosstrain in Team Leader duties and responsibilities.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Supervisors.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential job function. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, and to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

- Chemical Application
- Forklift Certification
TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to learn operations of packaging equipment
- Ability to learn computer controls.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
