Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

As a part of the Company's Second Line of Defense function, Financial Risk Oversight (FRO) performs independent risk oversight activities to ensure that business units' financial risk undertakings are within the stated risk appetite and commensurate with defined strategies. The Risk Analyst III of Financial Risk Oversight is a key role within the Financial Risk Oversight (FRO) department of First Citizens Risk organization and should have hands-on experience in capital management. The Risk Analyst III of Financial Risk Oversight plays a critical role in development and implementation of the capital risk management frameworks, assisting in the establishment of policies, procedures and processes, and controls to appropriately measure, monitor, and manage the Company's financial risk-taking activities.


Responsibilities

  • Primary Responsibilities

    • Work within Financial Risk Oversight to provide support on oversight of CCAR/Capital Planning related activities.
    • Actively participates in the development of a capital oversight framework (partnering with the business lines) that complies with policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Contributes to the design of capital risk strategies, analytics, and metrics to provide robust reporting of capital risk exposures to senior, executive management and risk governing committees.
    • Performs independent oversight of capital risk activities across the Company and assures senior management and executive leadership that risks are being accurately measured, appropriately controlled/mitigated, and in line with stated risk appetite.
    • Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs analysis for risk trends and data discrepancies, effectively communicates analysis output.
    • Creates and implements complex methods of risk evaluation. Develops expert strategies or solutions to address evaluation results, monitoring to ensure developed solutions are effective. May create models or simulation scenarios to test risk conditions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics

The base pay for this position is generally between $90,000.00 and $130,000.0. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
