Intern - Healthy Equity

Quartz is seeking one intern to join our Health Equity team from June to August 2026. This internship would be ideal for someone who is able to work part-time to gain hands-on exposure within the health insurance field. Hours and availability are flexible between 8:00AM and 5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday.

You will participate and learn important skills in real-world situations that can be applied to your career beyond the classroom to include, but not be limited to:

• Health Insurance Industry Knowledge: products, regulations, competitors, recent news
• Professional Skills: communication, time management, workplace etiquette
• Learn professional application and develop fluency in the following tools: Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT
• The intern will be exposed to:
  • Health Equity at Quartz
  • Clinical Programs Care Coordination
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
  • Member Advocacy
• Key tasks may include the following:
  • Assist in the development and distribution of health literacy materials tailoring to diverse member populations as well as internal Quartz staff
  • Collaborate with Health Equity Team as well as other Quartz staff to support internal health equity education, awareness, and efforts
  • Engage with Quartz community members via in-person events to promote Health Equity, educate our members, and encourage community
  • Support the planning and logistics of the on-site presence for the community-based health equity initiatives
  • Research health equity issues, best practices, etc. to help department projects and ongoing Health Equity work
  • Aid in collection and analysis of feedback from Quartz members and staff in relation to health equity and literacy topics
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing strategy discussion related to health equity

• Demonstrated interest in pursing a career within healthcare
• Ability to work 20 hours a week from June to August 2026
• Seeking a student pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree and Graduating between May 2026 and May 2027
• Must live within a 3-hour radius of Madison, WI and be willing to travel to headquarters from June to August

Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
