Description

As the Sr. Mission Systems Architect, you will provide support to the P-8A Integrated Product Teams in support of development, acquisition, modernization, and sustainment efforts. This position will be based out of NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting requirements generation, performing engineering design trade studies, drafting engineering documentation and artifacts, and assisting in the development of mission systems architecture solutions for P-8A mission computing and weapons systems.
  • Developing and presenting strategies to leverage technological advances to reduce complexity and cost in mission systems architecture for NAVAIR platforms.
  • Supporting the integration, validation, and verification of P-8A mission systems and weapons systems.
  • Supporting the software team in assessing software architecture, making recommendations to improve software delivery speed and agility and solve critical technical issues.
  • Partnering with the engineering team in the development of a robust, cyber-resilient, platform in both single and multi-domain solutions.
  • Preparing SOW recommendations and engineering artifacts for the Mission Systems Integration portion of the platform acquisition.
  • Reviewing, developing, and monitoring relevant engineering documentation and artifacts.
  • Participating in Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events and PMRs.
  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to translate customer requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule cost and exportability constraints.
  • Presenting pertinent information to stakeholders within the NAVAIR program office environment.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an ABET accredited institution is required.
  • Twenty (20) years of related systems engineering experience is required.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience working within the NAVAIR environment is required.
  • Experience working with P-8A or similar platform mission systems architecture and/or software architecture is required.
  • Experience working DoD acquisition efforts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems security engineering techniques (anti-tamper, reverse engineering, etc.) is desired.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The estimated salary range for this position will be $150,000 - $170,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
